About Øraeth

I’m José, a composer and producer from Luanda, Angola, now based in Bengo. I grew up on 90s R&B and pop, the music that made me want to be an artist. In 2010 I started studying theory and playing in my church’s music group, fell in love with production, and spent the years that followed singing in church ministries.

In 2020, with the lockdown keeping me off stage, I turned to a long-held dream: instrumental music for film, documentaries, series and TV. That’s when I found chillstep and future garage, and later a track blending dark ambient with future garage won me over completely. In 2024 Øraeth began, a name drawn from ethereal and atmosphere. Today my music is in more than 10,000 YouTube videos across 4,000+ channels, with over 100 million views.
